Disturbing incident in Shire Oak – householders be on your guard!
A reader living in the Commonside/Occupation Road area of Shire Oak has just been in touch with me asking to share with readers a frightening incident they experienced on Sunday Evening (27th November 2016) when it appears a youth tried to gain entry to their house while the occupants were watching TV.

It was uncharted territory for Walsall Wood yesterday (12th November 2016) as Walsall Wood FC travelled the short hop to Boldmere St. Michael’s to fight it out on the new all weather pitch – and they came home with a respectable win.

Watling Street School burgled over half term – did you see anything?
It’s time, I’m very much afraid, to issue another warning – it seems local burglars are at is again – in this case they targeted Watling Street School up on the A5 twice over half term, with computer equipment being stolen on both occasions.

The good folk of the Chase Inn at Newtown, Brownhills have been in touch to let me know that there’s live music and Halloween fun with a free entry fancy dress disco at the popular Brownhills pub tonight (Saturday 29th October 2016), with live music on stage from rock covers band Dark Page live from 8pm until late.

Firefighters tackle second fire in Brownhills this week
I note that there’s been another fire in Brownhills this evening, following the one earlier in the week that occurred at the former Terrace Restaurant in Newtown, on the A5 – this evening (Thursday 27th October 2016) a fire seems to have taken place in a stable near the old trotting track off Whitehorse Road, Brownhills.

Woodmen cut down by Sphinx, but their generosity stands tall
Walsall Wood FC were at home to Coventry Sphinx yesterday afternoon (Saturday, 15th October 2016), and suffered somewhat of a drubbing at the hands of the Coventry visitors.

The community rallies around to help Graham – a message of thanks
Last week there was an outpouring of justifiable shock and outrage when Holly Lane amputee Graham had his wheelchair stolen from outside of his bungalow, presumably by a group of local youths, only to be found later near the skate park at Oak Park, trashed beyond repair.
