Walsall Wood Reserves blather Bolehall – and some important news for Pelsall Villans!
The young David Evans yesterday (Saturday, 30th September 2017) attended the Walsall Wood reserves home match at Oak Park, and watched the Wood lads blather Bolehall eight-nil – but in a surprise development, this barnstormer seems to be the last game for the reserves for at least this season.

Meet your local coppers in Pelsall and Rushall!
I received notice of another couple of useful ‘Meet the public’ popup events via the excellent WMNow service a few days ago – one tonight in Pelsall and another tomorrow in Rushall – these are great initiatives where you can meet your local policing team and get help, crime prevention and public safety advice.

The death throes of the local line
Local rail buff Simon Swain last week sent in the above image of one of the last freight workings on the South Staffordshire Line through central Brownhills – and there was a large amount of interest in this remarkably evocative photo.

One of the final few
Local rail buff Simon Swain has been in touch with a remarkable image of Brownhills recording the very last days of the railway here – just before construction of the Miner Island in 1984.

Important appeal: Did you know Leslie Horton?
This is one of those requests that pops up from time to time, and was issued by the Communication Team at Walsall Council this week and I’d like all locals to have a think about it, and if any of you can do so, please help.

Hugo the dog safe and well back home!
Please share as widely as possible – this is urgent, a friend of the blog has asked me to share this stolen dog alert – the above dog was snatched in Ogley Park off Saddler Road in Brownhills this afternoon by two lads.

Another burglary this week in Brownhills – be on your guard
It seems the shed, garage and outbuilding burglars are still out and about in Brownhills and the wider area, so please take care – in the last few days, friend of the blog Jane Booth has written to me to tell me that her garage was broken into this week.
