There’s an unusual appeal been ongoing since yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, 2nd August 2017) published in the Birmingham Mail; teenage lad David McGregor has apparently been missing from his home in Brownhills since Tuesday, July 25th 2017.

Bogus workmen prey on another local victim – please warn the elderly
Yesterday, West Midlands Police issued an alert on WMNow about the distraction theft I reported on a few days ago in which an 83 year old resident of Castle close, Brownhills was victim of a distraction theft perpetrated by bogus workmen claiming to be utter cleaners.

Bogus gardeners conning the elderly in Brownhills – be vigilant
I was contacted yesterday by a local lady who is very concerned and upset that her mother was conned by bogus ‘gardeners’ who claimed to have done work on her communal garden, and then charged an extortionate fee.

Some Mummers do have ’em
There is a long tradition in British history of Mummer’s Plays – folkloric parables, stories and satires – performed for the benefit of the working classes by mostly itinerant actors and Walsall has seen a revival of this very old tradition in recent years with the plays written by former Walsall Wood teacher and local arts supremo Dave Calcutt.
