Firefighters tackle second fire in Brownhills this week
I note that there’s been another fire in Brownhills this evening, following the one earlier in the week that occurred at the former Terrace Restaurant in Newtown, on the A5 – this evening (Thursday 27th October 2016) a fire seems to have taken place in a stable near the old trotting track off Whitehorse Road, Brownhills.

Resurfacing of A5 Watling Street – warning of road closures
Sorry, a bit late with this I know, but a post from Brownhills Councillor Steve Wade on his blog has just caught my attention – there’s currently a road closure on the A5 Rising Sun Island until 6am tomorrow morning (Thursday, 26th May 2016), and further closures Tuesday 31st May and 1st and 2nd June 2016.

Road accident on M6 Toll island this evening
I’ve had a load of enquiries about an accident tonight up by the M6 toll slip road island just off the A5195 and Ogley Hay Road north of the A5 between Chasetown and Hammerwich – as luck would have it, there’s a fairly full report on the West Midlands Ambulance Service newsfeed which I post in full below.

I note today that the good old Express & Star have covered the closure of The Terrace restaurant in Brownhills that shocked so many last week – in an article unusually more detailed online than in the print edition, the paper reveals folks out of pocket with vouchers and others with prior bookings that are now obviously cancelled.
