Vehicle break-in in Shire Oak: Beware, folks.
A note to people living around the Friezland Lane area of Shire Oak, particularly those around the Hillside Close/Simmonds Way/Hillside areas – yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 7th February 2018) at around 4pm a vehicle was broken into and a large quantity of items were stolen from it.

Do you recognise these recovered items, believed stolen?
An interesting appeal in from Aldridge Neighbourhood Policing Team who have a number of items (pictured in the gallery above) which they think may have been stolen and are trying to trace the owners.

Wood surf the mud to bury Alvis
Saturday 27th January 2018 saw a remarkable game of football at Walsall Wood FC’s Oak Park ground – a game that was widely expected to be cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch went ahead thanks to the diligence and hard work of the grounds crew, and the home side beat visitors Coventry Elvis a whopping 8-0.

Did you see this hit and run collision in Lichfield Road last night?
Witnesses are being sought to a very unpleasant traffic incident last night on the Lichfield Road in Brownhills, between Grasmere Gardens and the Co-op Corner junction with Ogley/Chase roads – I actually passed the aftermath of this and the car in question looked very seriously damaged.

Living next door to the Grove – what do you know?
Last year I featured a very popular set of images from a place I genuinely didn’t realise still existed: The Grove Colliery, the remnants of which – the house and offices situated just off Lime Lane, between Pelsall, Brownhills, Norton and Great Wyrley – were documented by old pal of the blog Simon Swain and drone wizard Steve Martin also captured the site from the air.

Woodmen make swift work of Stourport, but bitten by Adders
A shock for the mighty Woodmen yesterday, then (Saturday 25th November 2017) as Walsall Wood FC were defeated away at Atherstone Town in a great match much enjoyed by Bill Shaw.

Warning: sudden rash of vehicle theft and burglary over the weekend
After a fairly quiet few months, there’s been a spate of vehicle thefts and break ins in the Brownhills and Clayhanger areas of late, with a car taken in Clayhanger in the early hours of this morning (Monday, 20th November 2017), and attempted theft beforehand and another attempted in Poplar Avenue, Brownhills at around the same time.

Woodmen exterminate Badgers
Last Tuesday evening saw Walsall Wood FC travel to Brocton FC at Stafford – and once again, the Wood emerged with a stunning score sheet that’s making many question the nature of the water in Walsall Wood at the moment.
