Here’s yet another urgent appeal for a lost cat, this time from Tracey Roberts who lives on the Ogley Road, Brownhills, near Mill Road – her semi long-haired ginger cat has been missing for a week now.

Brownhills canal indecent exposure incident
Worrying news reaches me of an indecent exposure incident on the canal in Brownhills last Wednesday night (23rd July 2014), when a lady cycling on the towpath between the Pier Street pedestrian Bridge (near Tesco) and Catshill Junction witnessed a naked man on the far side of the canal near the Silver Court Gardens site.

Amanda Hawkins still missing – police issue video appeal
It’s now two weeks to the day since Moxley resident Amanda Hawkins was last seen getting off a bus at the Barnets Lane stop on the Lichfield Road at Brownhills. Amanda’s family, carers and West Midlands Police are very, very concerned for her safety; Amanda suffers memory loss and mental health issues, requires daily medication and can be considered vulnerable.

Police still searching for Amanda Hawkins
Please folks, this is really, really important – after the brouhaha last night of the water loss, police heloicopters and all the other fuss, some folk noticed a Search and Rescue Unit had been called in and was stationed at Brownhills Police Station.

Nasty robbery in Aldridge on Wednesday – police appeal for help
This is a nasty one – if anyone has any information, please do come forward and contact Walsall Police or Crimestoppers – It seems that just after 4pm on Wednesday (12th March 2014), a pair of thugs robbed two chaps who were sat in their car near Aldridge Post Office in Northgate, near the town centre.

A public partnership
The collaboration initiated by this blog between top local history wonk Dave Moore and The Clayhanger Kid himself, Brian Stringer, is proving to be productive indeed – and a couple of days ago, I spotted a beautiful video interview with Brian recorded and produced by Dave. All aboard!
Just over 12 months ago, readers may recall I published an appeal for folk to help the 1st Walsall Wood Scout Group raise funds for a new minibus, to enable the gang to broaden their horizons and arrange more trips away – well, in seems they’ve cracked it, and have now received their new vehicle, and what’s more, they’re offering it for the use of other community groups in the area.

Walsall Wood indecent exposure incident
It seems the flashers, undeterred by the recent cold weather, are at it again. Sadly, I missed this press release last week, as I wasn’t following the right feed (now corrected). This is a worrying incident in Walsall Wood which really needs resolving before anything worse happens.

Police appeal: Anyone know of David Palmer?
This is an unusual one that’s come down the wires today from West Mercia Police. It seems they’re trying to trace a man thought to live in the Brownhills area between 1973 and 1977. Can you help? Police are particularly keen to engage with the Methodist community, as David is thought to have been active within it.
