How they are related: Something Brewe-ing…
Whilst trawling the great tat-bazaar yesterday, I noticed a regular um, ‘reproducer’ of historical images (the least said about that the better) had an interesting take on a common image of Brownhills High Street and William Roberts Brewery that used to be behind the Station Hotel – It would have been about where B&M is today.
Woodmen belittle Littleton

Frequented by cats?
A few weeks ago I posted a remarkable and very popular post by the young David Evans about a lost Methodist Chapel that was located in Catshill – possibly the first such place of worship in Brownhills – that provoked a large amount of discussion about the Catshill area itself.
A life on the Hill…
Earlier in the week, I featured a lovely piece about the long gone carpet shop in Brownhills High Street that stood where Wilkinson is today called Tom’s Cabin, by old friend of the blog Ian Broad – in that article, I noted Ian had some other images and memories to share of the (still derelict) old bungalow at the old driveway to Shire Oak Quarry, on the A461 near Sandhills, Shire Oak.
The Grove Colliery – remembering a lost pit
Last year I featured a very popular set of images from a place I genuinely didn’t realise still existed: The Grove Colliery, the remnants of which – the house and offices situated just off Lime Lane, between Pelsall, Brownhills, Norton and Great Wyrley – were documented by old pal off the blog Simon Swain and posted here as a gallery I include below.

Tom’s Cabin: from thatches to rugs!
Way back, six years way back, I wrote about the (still derelict) old bungalow at the old driveway to Shire Oak Quarry, just of Shire Oak Hill on the A461 near Sandhills, and was interested in the history of this interesting, lost home; several folk got in touch and a whole thread emerged about life in the bungalow from Ian Broad, intertwined with the history of his father’s shop in Brownhills, Tom’s Cabin.
