No longer up the creek – Millfield School’s canoe returned!
Earlier today, I had the sad task of requesting help in tracing the scumbags who nicked a canoe and other sporting kit from Millfield School in Catshill, Brownhills.

Sports equipment stolen from Millfield School
I’m sad to say Millfield School in Catshill, Brownhills, has had their sport shed broken into twice in recent weeks, and sporting equipment has been taken – including a bright red canoe.

B&M coming to Aldridge – vacancies now being advertised
Ever since I posted that B&M were moving into the old Focus DIY store on Northgate, between Aldridge and Walsall Wood, I’ve been contacted by people either swearing it will be an Asda (nope) or doubting what I said – well, work has continued on the empty building and it’s now in B&M colours, and vacancies have now been posted for a ‘new Aldridge store’ on the B&M website.

Our greenspaces are not for sale!
In the last couple of days there’s been a degree of what can only be described as panic locally and on social media about the future of Cannock Chase, Chasewater and other Staffordshire Country Parks.

Anybody seen this stolen bike please?
Hey – this is important – it seems bike thieves are still operating in Brownhills, and on Monday, 1st June 2015 they took a green Mongoose mountain bike from the rear of the Greggs sore in Brownhills High Street, where it had been locked up.

Crossed purposes again
On or around April 29th 2015, the Four Crosses Pub – the last true boozer in Shelfield, and a popular local pub I’ve enjoyed in the past – closed suddenly, and was boarded up, which has caused understandable outrage amongst pub-goers and real ale fans in the area.

A couple of days ago, I featured here the curious case of the missing dog poo bin just behind Chandlers Keep near the canal in Brownhills – local dog walkers were unhappy at the disappearance of the well used disposal point.

I just want to take a moment to say thanks to all who shared and kept an eye out for the silver mountain bike stolen from Brownhills High Street last Sunday Morning – the lad who had the bike taken sadly doesn’t have it back (any info still appreciated) but I and his mum would like to thank those of you who offered to help in so many ways.

Five years ago, when I started this blog, one of the largest looming topics was that of the then proposed new Tesco Store in Brownhills – we’d been through a consultation, and the proposal was to build a large hypermarket fronting the High Street.
