Beware – bogus Police Officers spotted in Shire Oak
I notice yet again issues locally with bogus callers and con merchants preying on the elderly and vulnerable – and now there have been reports that in the St. Marks Road area of Shire Oak in the last few days, people posing as police officers have been operating.

Bogus gardeners conning the elderly in Brownhills – be vigilant
I was contacted yesterday by a local lady who is very concerned and upset that her mother was conned by bogus ‘gardeners’ who claimed to have done work on her communal garden, and then charged an extortionate fee.

Plan for 200 new homes in central Brownhills approved
Way back in April this year, I first noted the consultation and plan to finally redevelop the wasteland in Brownhills that was once Silver Court Gardens, the notorious tenement maisonette estate that was demolished in 2004, into over 100 dwellings.

Application submitted for large Brownhills housing development
It comes I’m sure, as no surprise that Walsall Housing Group (WHG) have been planning a huge new housing development in central Brownhills for some time now – after all, last month I advertised a one-day consultation on plans to build houses on the former site of Silver Court Gardens, behind Silver Court, on land that’s now vacant.

Redevelopment of Silver Court Gardens – have your say
There’s been loads of buzz since my article last weekend about the new development Walsall Housing Group are considering putting forward for the derelict wasteland that was once Silver Court Gardens in Brownhills – now you can attend the consultation and make your voice heard.

Silver Court Gardens – a positive development
Hey folks, this is important – I was sent a link to this press release by friend of the blog Sarah Treadwell on Friday, and this it is potentially great news – I’ve known for a while that Walsall Housing Group have been looking to redevelop the land left vacant a decade ago with the demolition of Silver Court Gardens in central Brownhills.

Is there a new arrival for Wessex close?
I don’t have a great deal of information about this, I’m sorry to say, but I thought it might be worthwhile to draw readers attention to the following event, happening next Thursday, 16th May, at the Parkview Centre in Brownhills (That’s the library).

High rise mice?
I’ve received a very interesting email from a long-time resident of Humphries House in Brownhills. Humphries House, readers will no doubt remember, is the last of two remaining system-build tower blocks in Brownhills, and along with it’s partner, the much smaller Severn House, it was recently reclad and renovated by it’s owners, Walsall Housing Group.

WHG finally pulls it’s finger out, parades bosses in hi-viz
Today, I received a PR puff for Walsall Housing Group, the housing association that own and look after Walsall Council’s former social housing stock. It seems that over two years from first planning application, they look set to start work … Continue reading

Walsall Housing Group: Moving the goalposts again
I’ve just discovered a press release from Walsall Housing Group that seems to have slipped by largely unnoticed. Remember the housing development initially sketched in to replace the now demolished maisonettes that stood opposite Knave’s Court? When I last covered … Continue reading

Crikey! They know where we live after all…
I noted an engaging article buried in the back of last Saturday’s Express and Star (23rd May 2009) – as usual for any interesting Brownhills story, there’s no online version, so I’ve OCR’d the text below: “Visions of housing complex … Continue reading
