Worrying door to door caller operating in Brownhills – beware
I have been alerted to a worrying incident that happened in Poole Crescent, Brownhills this afternoon (Saturday, 24th March 2018) when a door to door caller was touting for work clearing gutters, and seems to have received payment for work in advance he then did not carry out.

Paramedics cars broken into in Walsall Wood – can you help please?
This is an urgent appeal for help from the West Midlands Ambulance paramedic staff that currently operate out of the old Walsall Wood Library at the junction of High Street and Coppice Road – last night (Friday, 9th March 2018) their vehicles were broken into and medical supplies stolen.

Bill Shaw: Tributes, and details of funeral released
Following the sad news of the passing of Bill Shaw, long time contributor to the blog, Clayhanger lad and great champion of local football there, has been a huge outpouring of sympathy and condolence – Bill was certainly a friend and familiar face to many, not just in local football, but in the wider community.

Vehicle break-in in Shire Oak: Beware, folks.
A note to people living around the Friezland Lane area of Shire Oak, particularly those around the Hillside Close/Simmonds Way/Hillside areas – yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 7th February 2018) at around 4pm a vehicle was broken into and a large quantity of items were stolen from it.

White van man flogging mattresses and TVs operating locally again – be vigilant
I’ve been contacted by a reader of the blog who lives in Walsall Wood who’s asked me to to warn you that there’s a man driving around our area in a large white van offering mattresses and TVs for sale door to door, and it’s undoubtedly a scam.

Did you see this hit and run collision in Lichfield Road last night?
Witnesses are being sought to a very unpleasant traffic incident last night on the Lichfield Road in Brownhills, between Grasmere Gardens and the Co-op Corner junction with Ogley/Chase roads – I actually passed the aftermath of this and the car in question looked very seriously damaged.

Man tries to enter lady’s car in Brownhills – be on your guard folks
Late last night (Wednesday 13th December 2017) word reached me that a local lady and her daughter who were parked up in Coppice Lane, Brownhills, waiting for her son to finish work had a lucky escape when a man tried and failed to get into their car.
Police issue statement on incident at Northgate, Aldridge this morning
This morning, Tuesday 12th December 2017, there was a serious police incident on Northgate in Aldridge, which led to closure of the road, intense police activity and a hell of a lot of unfounded rumour spread on social media, sadly.
Bogus callers operating locally again – be vigilant
I’ve just had warning from the excellent WMNow system (you can sign up here – it’s free and very useful) that a door to door caller is operating in Aldridge and seems to up up to no good – touting for cash to move rubbish and suchlike.
Tools stolen from van in Clayhanger overnight
News reaches me of yet more vehicle crime in Clayhanger and Pelsall overnight, with tools being stolen from a vehicle in Clayhanger and what was very probably the same crew of thieves escaping empty handed from a van break-in on Ryders Hayes.

Warning: sudden rash of vehicle theft and burglary over the weekend
After a fairly quiet few months, there’s been a spate of vehicle thefts and break ins in the Brownhills and Clayhanger areas of late, with a car taken in Clayhanger in the early hours of this morning (Monday, 20th November 2017), and attempted theft beforehand and another attempted in Poplar Avenue, Brownhills at around the same time.

Last weekend, Saturday and Sunday 11-12th November 2017 saw the annual Remembrance weekend in the UK and I’m pleased to say Walsall Borough and South Staffordshire did themselves proud and staged a whole range of parades and events that were well supported and attended – and I was especially pleased to see the wonderful turnout and effort in Brownhills.

Beware – trio of men trying to sell generators and pressure washers in Brownhills
I hear there are three of shady coves trying to sell generators and pressure washers with very pushy tactics in Brownhills and Walsall Wood today (Thursday 26th October 2017) – They’ve been seen in the Ogley/Sadler Road and Friezland Lane areas.
