Serious fire near Ogley Road this morning
Reports and pictures are emerging of quite a serious fire that’s occurred just off the alleyway between Ogley Road and Catshill Road, near the Brownhills Telephone Exchange.

The Warners, the Wheatsheaf, and Pat the dog!
Further to Wendy Gates’ enquiry about the Wheatsheaf pub last week, and of her father, Jack Warner, Wendy posted some more family images to share with readers and maybe jog a few memories of the family and the popular lost Brownhills pub.

Do you remember the Wheatsheaf?
Wendy Gates has been in touch to ask if anyone remembers her family who owned and worked at the long-gone Wheatsheaf pub in Ogley Road, Brownhills up until the 1970s – Wendy has fond recollectionsof this popular lost pub, and wants to know if anyone has any memories to share?

Anthony ‘Tony’ Hackett – funeral details available
A short while ago it was my sad duty to report the passing of Mr. Anthony ‘Tony’ Hackett, a well loved and respected Brownhills gentleman who spent may years as a local school Caretaker and scout leader – the many touching tributes and kind words about Tony from his friends and former school pupils were lovely and a comfort to his Granddaughter Tara and family

Anthony ‘Tony’ Hackett – rest in peace
Earlier this week I posted a request for memories of Mr. Anthony ‘Tony’ Hackett, who was unwell; his Granddaughter Tara was keen to gather reminiscences of Tony, particularly in his occupation as local school caretaker, to help him remember good times.

Can you help with memories of a popular Brownhills school Caretaker?
I have a very unusual enquiry here from friend of the blog Tara Hackett relating to her Grandfather, Tony Hackett – he was a popular local school caretaker for years, and is a bit under the weather at the moment, and Tara thinks it would be great if anyone has any memories relating to Tony they can share.

Rufus the cat back home safely!
You’ll no doubt remember Tuesday’s appeal (3rd February 2015) by Tracey Roberts to help find her gorgeous, missing ginger cat – well, good news.

Please keep an eye open for this lost ginger!
Here’s yet another urgent appeal for a lost cat, this time from Tracey Roberts who lives on the Ogley Road, Brownhills, near Mill Road – her semi long-haired ginger cat has been missing for a week now.

The Wheatsheaf, Brownhills – what do we know?
Here’s a quick one I’ve been asked about on twitter, and it’s piqued my interest to such an extent that I thought I’d post the question here, particularly while there’s a similar discussion centring around the Royal Exchange in Walsall Wood.

Class of… when, and who?
I’ve been contacted by David Evans, with the following request – I’d really like to name the submitter as it could help greatly with the identification of folk on the photo, but I’m not sure if I can – It looks early sixties to me, maybe Ogley Hay, anyone recognise themselves or any other kids?
