Just a note for anyone interested that Oak Park Active Living Centre – the new leisure centre in Walsall Wood – opens this Tuesday, 9th August 2016 as does the sister centre at Bloxwich.

It must be election time
A news story drifted into my feed in the last couple of days, which was also flagged up to me by top local history bloke Clive Roberts and the young David Evans: it seems that Brownhills High Street may well be in receipt of £125,000 of safety improvements, including hump crossings and high-grip surfaces.

Pensioner dies following Brownhills collision
The Express & Star is now carrying the sad news that the elderly gentleman who was involved in the road traffic collision in Brownhills this morning has sadly passed away.

Brownhills High Street Accident – West Midlands Ambulance Service statement
West Midlands Ambulance Service have issued the following statement in regard to the serious incident today (Friday, 19th December 2014) on Brownhills High Street near to the Church Road junction when an elderly man had been in collision with a tipper lorry.
