I promise, this is the last one, but it was requested that I take some images within the borough. As usual, more on my 365daysofbiking journal.
I escaped on Sunday afternoon, between 4 and 5pm, just as the day was dying. It had been snowing a fine, dust like snow most of the day, and there were few folk about.
Startlingly, Brownhills is beautiful. Even Morris, his gimcrack blue floodlights muted by the covering of snow, looked good with a dusting of the white stuff…
The old canal bridge in Engine Lane looked positively Laplandian.
Clayhanger Common looked amazing, even in a very, very grey light.
Morris, with a breastplate of snow.
The copse by the Pier Street Bridge was like a fairy grotto.
The Annexe, Activities Centre or Central Boys School is a beautiful building when you look closely.
Clayhanger lane was reasonably clear at 4:30pm – but the snow was settling fast.
On the former railway cycle trail, the snow reflected light into hitherto unseen places.
I’d have liked to follow the old rail line further, but the going was just to tough.
I love the way the snow picks out the detail in the shrubbery and fence.
Coppilce Lane looked incredible in the snow and sodium light.

Thanks for these Bob, they’re enchanting. I’ll be over in Pelsall visiting my folks at the end of the week, flights into Brum permitting. Looking forward to being home.
