Hi folks
Seeing lots of reports of folk with no water or severely reduced pressure in our area, as far away as Aldridge, Brownhills and Pelsall.
I’m having trouble finding out any information, but as soon as I get anything I’l post it up. Feel free to comment if you have anything to add.
South Staffordshire Water’s website can be found here.
Their status page (courtesy Barry Carpenter) can be found here.
Bob
Just in from South Staffs Water
And spotted on Twitter
Just been to Coop at top of Howdles Lane. They were about to run out of bottled water as apparently some have run dry. My pressure’s a bit low, but okay for now.
Thanks bob ,been trying to get through to south staffs but they are a tad busy
Anne
I find it surprising that their social media team only operate between 8am to 4pm. Missing a trick there I think!
HI BOb
water back on here, Shire Oak 7.30ish…
I called them and eventually got through at 18.30 to be told that the issue was very wide spread throughout their whole area and that ‘thousands’ of customers had no water at all. They couldn’t tell me what the problem was but they estimated that full pressure and all supplies would be restored by 19.30.
My supply seems back to normal.
Asked them where I could get alternative supply re; their obligations to us, did not know; gave me other numbers i could contact which were no use as they were not complete numbers. So if anyone can getthrough on the phone ask them about compensation its £10 for no warning and where can you get an alternative supply. They have to give each resident 10 litres per 24 hours.
Just been out an about, there was a South Staffs van up by Shire Oak lights with water pumping out of the path and down at Oak Park Lights a similar sight at around 10.45pm, the peoples republic of Walsall Wood seems to be largely unaffected………….

He’ll be bleeding air from the high spot at a guess…
