This sunset developed, became magical, then disappeared into darkness in a twenty minute timespan on Saturday, 21st October, 2012. At the time, I was just cycling across Chasewater, heading to Morrisons in Burntwood to do some shopping. I was one of only four people on the Dam to witness this. I was very lucky indeed.
The colours in the sky changed steadily from crimsons and violets to gold, deep blue and deep orange. It constantly, steadily evolved. I was captivated.

Sadly, many beautiful things I felt affection for seem to be up for sale. Wouldn’t surprise me if this band of spivs, con merchants, shitehawks and hypocrites tried to sell the weather, too.

a late comment i know but wonderfull pictures as i work in entertainment i have a lot of time free in the afternoon but never in the evening so i dont gwt to see this ive lived at nest common pelsall for 50 years and we have some wonerfull sunsets over the curkey wurley but ive only goot my mobile and the photos never come out right!great photos
