[Updated 2:00pm Traffic now clearing – Cheers, Bob]
There’s been a nasty accident in Walsall Wood this lunchtime (Wednesday 4th January 2017), and traffic congestion and road closures are ongoing as emergency services deal with the incident.
The crash is thought to involve a pickup truck and a car at the junction of the A461 High Street Walsall Wood with Coppice Road and Brookland Road.
Local man Stephen Hill reported that the accident took place opposite Walsall Wood Library, and that emergency services technicians are in attendance and have used hydraulic cutting gear to free one person from the truck.
The High Street Walsall Wood has been closed, and traffic is currently backing up from the junction along Coppice Road to the Lindon Road Junction, so avoid the area if you can.
My sympathies to those involved and I hope nobody is seriously injured. Thanks to the professionals attending their second incident in Walsall Wood in 24 hours. Never a dull moment…
Thanks to Stephen for his second incident report with pictures this week. top community service there.
