Good friend of the blog Brenda Ward has been in touch to let me know that Pelsall Canal Festival takes place the weekend after next, 15th & 16th June 2013. This is a cracker of an event, and takes place biannually. I attended the last one in 2011, and despite some indifferent, blustery weather it was a great occasion that was well organised with plenty of great attractions for all the family.
The weekend after is Brownhills Canal Festival, which this year is also a weekend-long event, and more details on that coming soon.
If you recognise the photo in the flier, it’s mine. Brenda kindly asked permission, and I’m honoured that they liked the image…
Thanks Bob for your super photo & this mention! The weekend promises to be a super attraction for ALL the family. Entry & car parking is free so why not come & spend a really good day out. It really is a fun Festival for all the Community of Pelsall & beyond. There will be over 100 boats to see & a trip boat for you to go on the water, canoes to try & going even smaller there will be model boats too. Over 60 stalls with a vast variety of interesting stuff to see and buy. Dennis with his Traction Engine to give rides so come on and enjoy the day! See you there!!
Looking forward to the Canal Festival. I will be there come rain or sunshine.
Really hope the current iffy forecast is wrong. A superb event which unfortunately suffered at the hands of the weather last time. Fingers crossed.
You’ll find me somewhere near the real ale tent!
The weather forecast seems to be changing daily!! I certainly hope the sun will shine. There are more people than ever relying on it.
I have a sense of de ja vu, a showery saturday followed by heavy rain on Sunday is being forecast.
As we know round these parts things can rapidly change though.
Mate, don’t ever become a tourism officer. Whatever happens, it’ll be a great event!
Cheers
Bob
Thanks Bob!!!!! The Marquee is going up as I type. See you at the weekend.
