Make it Strictly West End with Brownhills finest – who are also returning home!

It’s going to be a great show!

Martin Morris from the Shire Oak group on Facebook has drawn my attention to the fact that Brownhills Musical Theatre Company have their latest show ‘Strictly West End’ on this week at the Prince of Wales Theatre, Cannock.

The show is running from 1st-4th November 2017 with evening shows starting at 7:30pm and an additional Saturday Matinee at 2:30pm on the 4th. What better show for a post-Halloween treat?

Our local theatre Company, Brownhills Musical Theatre Company are putting on their Autumn production Strictly West End at the Prince of Wales Theatre, Cannock.

If you like a value for money entertainment come along and support us and you’ll be in for an evening of songs from the shows mixed together with some old favourites.

A glittering spectacular of what’s cheerful, what’s tearful, what’s hot and what’s not. This non-stop show travels through a journey of hope, doubt, laughter, joy, despair and triumph.

An everyday story of theatre folk! Share the joy and dance in the aisles!

If you’d like tickets please call into the box office at Cannock, call our Ticket Sectetary on 01785 715368 or 07850 329462, alternatively you can buy online by visiting the POS Tickets online box office.

Brownhills Musical Theatre Company are award winning, and have an excellent reputation for staging sellout shows, such as their ‘Brownhills Goes to Broadway‘, which received great acclaim.

The Theatre Company also have some great news: After several years without a venue in Brownhills, they’ve finally got a new home at The Lamp Arts Centre at the Community Centre in Brownhills, and later in November, they’ll be launching their Spring 2018 show, Half a Sixpence with open auditions in their new Brownhills home!

Good to see the crew back in Brownhills!

The launch of Half a Sixpence takes place on Friday 24th November 2017 at 7:30pm at The Lamp Theatre in Brownhills Community Centre just on the Miner Island and the auditions are open to all – so why not pop along?

The show itself will be at The Lichfield Garrick from 15th-19th May 2018.

If you’re interested you can contact Jamie Norgrove on 07850 329462 or email halfasixpenceBMTC@hotmail.com.

My 90 year old cousin in Perth Australia, Olwen Foster, sent me the following message which I have edited only slightly.

“The Brownhills Musical Theatre Company is the one Ivan and I started first at The Library Theatre Bloxwich and then moved to Brownhills. We are the first founder members. We refer to it as Ivan’s dream. We were at a dress rehearsal there 2 days before he died. Very proud of their achievements. I played The Merry Widow as my Swan Song before we left. They keep in touch with me and sent me a 90th Birthday Card.

There were 4 of us who formed it Ivan and I and Kate and Arthur Doody. Ivan was Producer and Arthur Musical Director.

Kate the other friend is still in the Company but sadly Arthur died. I well remember the hours of discussion we had before we set the wheels on motion. It’s very dear to my heart.
we only did 2 Productions at the Library Theatre as the membership grew so quickly and Brownhills School had a good stage and tiered seating. We performed there for years hence a name change.”
