‘For the first time ever, Basford United visit Oak Park’ eh ?? Don’t think so. The Wood played them at Oak Park in the mid 1940’s in the F.A. Amateur Cup. I think they beat us. So there’s an incentive to do well today !! For the good of the Wood. What’s that , match postponed – waterlogged ground – sod it !!

Sadly, the match is off, but having been busy with today’s appeal I didn’t get chance to issue an update, sorry.

The club room was a warming and cheerful place, as ever, and filled with frustrated spectators busily fortifying themselves for the journey back to their homes, and the welcoming arms of their good ladies.
