The suspect walked into the branch at 4.45pm and threatened a member of staff with a knife. He left on foot with a till. Officers are examining CCTV.

Detective Constable Deborah Humphries, from Walsall Police’s Investigation Team, said: ‘The suspect is a white man, aged between 35 and 40 and medium build. He was dressed in a beige coloured jacket, a woolly hat and gloves, and had stubble.

‘We know the offender left the store and walked across Ravens Court towards Tesco carrying the stolen till and we’d now like to hear from anyone who saw anything’.
