The Shoulder of Mutton, and two local family histories: What do you know?

I’ve had an enquiry in from reader Diane Clift regarding her family, the Danks, a connection with the Clifts and the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Church Road, Brownhills.

Hello Bob

Hello, wondering if you could help me or be able to point me in right direction.

I’m doing my family tree and I know I’m from the Danks line through a marriage between daughter and Clift.

All I know is my grandfather George Clift was born in the shoulder of mutton. Do you know anything about the Danks family .

Many thanks
Diane Painter

I don’t know an awful lot about the Shoulder of Mutton and it’s history, other than it was a Roberts pub, so all information gratefully received. I know we still have both Clifts and Danks families locally, so any help you can give would be welcome.

Please comment here or mail me – BrownhillsBob t googlemmil dot com. Thanks, and cheers to Diane for an interesting enquiry.
