Ian Cassidy has been in touch to let readers know of the sad passing of his mother, Rita Joan Cassidy (nee Percival) who passed away on the 9th December 2017, and to invite all who knew her to her funeral next Monday, 8th January.

Rita was born in May, 1944 to Gertrude and William Henry Percival and attended Watling Street and Ogley Hay School For girls from 1955 until 1960. She married in in September 1962, and had two sons, Ian and Peter.

Ian has asked me to inform you that his mother’s funeral will take place next Monday, 8th January 2018 at 11am, at St James’ Church,Brownhills. Reverend Bishop will be officiating.

Afterwards there will be a gathering at the Royal Oak pub, Main St, Stonnall.

My condolences, and those of readers to Ian and the Cassidy family, and to all who knew Rita. My deepest sympathies.
