So you thought the age of child labour was over in Britain

So you thought the age of child labour was over in Britain … | Catherine Bennett | Comment is free | The Observer .

Somewhere, near you now, there will be a child caring for a parent. These unfortunate children save the NHS and your local authority millions of pounds every year in care fees for care that should be provided by the state, freeing the incumbents to live as normally as possible. How many times have you passed such a child in the street, of whom you are peripherally aware, and thought about their life – perhaps only in the most patronising ‘what an angel…’ terms?

This is a scandal. Just when are we going to take the role of carer seriously?

If you’re not bloody outraged, then you’re not paying attention.

    Hi Bob

Let’s see if the Express and Star can pick up on your article and publicize this sorry state of affairs.

    Regards Pero
