MP’s expenses – that’s what we’re all supposed to be outraged about. I take the view that since the net is already alive with the righteously indignant, preparing their digital pitchforks and flaming torches for the next popular uprising, then my opinion isn’t relevant and you probably don’t want to hear it.
I was, however, intrigued to hear the view of Neil Dixon in his latest Minor Technicality podcast – it takes up about the first five minutes or so of the episode, which plays automatically when you open the link below.
Minor Technicality 49 – Press Gang Culture.
Neil, to me at least, is quite right. Next time the press encourage you to be outraged, ask yourself why they might want you to be. Could it be, for instance, that a newspaper publisher that encourages uproar about the BBC for whatever reason be poised to benefit from the emasculation of the state broadcaster in the form of competing commercial channels?
‘Minor Technicality’ is a somewhat irregularly published podcast featuring the often witty ramblings of former standup Neil Dixon, and I’m a loyal subscriber… give it a go.
