Fancy joining Brownhills Community Drum Corps Band?

 

An important one here:If you’d like to join up and help the Brownhills Community Drum Corps Band – that’s the folks who march at Brownhills Remembrance Parade – then here’s you chance today (Sunday 16th February 2020) and subsequent Sundays.

Brownhills Community Band and Drum Corps now meet at the new venue of Clayhanger Community Centre, Church Street, Clayhanger WS8 7EG from 1pm until 3:30pm. That’s just off Salters Road. Instruments are provided, but if you have something else suitable, feel free to bring it along.

There’s also going to be a band open day on the 1st March 2020.

Experience isn’t essential but enthusiasm is! Kids and adults alike are welcome.

    This is interesting as Clayhanger had a Flute ( and Drum?)band..miners..at the turn of the 20th century. My grandfather played in this, I am told, and the band members wore a smart uniform. There is only one reference to the band – taking part in some celebration – in local newspaper archives. but perhaps local Clayhanger folk may have information. I wish the present Drum Corps Band every success
