Here’s a heads up for something remarkable I was planning to visit last weekend, but sadly tragic events took over – I will however be visiting in the coming days, and I commend all to go and see this remarkable Remembrance project.

Station Road in Aldridge has been turned into a veritable festival of the poppy, all in aid of Remembrance and the 100 year centenary of the Great War. Those excellent people from the Aldridge Great War Project, community volunteers, historians and miles and miles of wool from keen knitters and crochet crafters have come together to create something utterly stunning.

There is no fee to visit. Just walk station road yourself and take the air, and reflect on the huge price communities like Aldridge and our own paid though war and service to their country.
