Recent spate of burglaries in our area – be vigilant, folks.

We’re normally a  fairly low crime area. Imagery from Bing! Maps.

A general warning folks: there seems to be an increase in burglaries locally in the last week, either where stuff has been stolen or where raiders have been scared off.

On the night of Monday/Tuesday 4-5th June 2017, a bicycle was stolen from Clayhanger by a man witnessed on CCTV repeatedly trying car doors. Footage of him making off on the bike is included below.

Two burglaries have been reported in the New Road, Brownhills area coming soon after the walk in theft last week in Ogley Hay. In both instances it’s believed entry was gained by breaking open back doors. Please be vigilant.

Also reported, and attempted lock-snapping incident where a door was damaged but attempts to gain access failed at a property near the Shire Oak Pub on the Chester Road.

If you’re offered any desirable stuff cheaply on the side, always think hard about where they might have come from, and by all means grub the people flogging them into the rozzers – the stuff is probably nicked. Next time, it could be your stuff they take.

Anyone with information on the recent spate of burglaries is urged to contact West Midlands Police by dialling 101 or you can speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
