Another day, another great ride. Today I headed out early afternoon, firstly to Chasewater then on to Lichfield and the festival market. From the busy city, I headed to the quiet of the east Staffordshire countryside – Whittington, Croxall, Walton, Rosliston, Lullington, Harlaston and back via Wall.
A fine ride in very hot weather, about 45 miles. It was still, and the air hazy. I make no apologies for sharing a second set of ride images this weekend – it’s glorious out there, and I know many of the readers love these.
The poppies at Pipe Hill are joyous. Do go check them out if you can.

Shouldn’t that pig be on the wall?
I hope anyone catching the joyous poppies at Pipe Hill manage to park their vehicles more sensibly than some of the idiots who were there last week.
There you go, light and shade. We all win.
Most of us enjoy the poppies, and Rob gets something new to grumble about.
Summer is good for everyone.

There’s no problem “enjoying” poppies or anything else sensibly.
If it increases the risk of traffic accidents I’d have thought that was worth a mention.
I only drive through there about twenty times a week so obviously know nothing.

I think I must be physic,returning from Lichfield yesterday afternoon I spotted the poppy field on the way back too Cannock and said to my wife it Bob spots that it will appear on his blog.
And lo and behold there it was.Got to close now sort my lottery numbers out

I enjoyed the glorious sight of these poppies this morning as I drove past. Are they grown to manure the field or as a crop, or as setaside? However, they did bring memories of my visits to Flanders and the silent battlefields, but I was still able to keep my mind on my driving around this fast new traffic island. Thanks for the article and for taking time to take these photos for us all to appreciate and enjoy.
