Brownhills Canal Festival this Sunday

Last year's event was really well attended. A great time had by all...

I notice yet again that it’s time for the Brownhills Canal Festival. Always a great event, it takes place this Sunday, 26th June, from 10am till 4pm, and I’m keen to support it however I can. Despite offering free promotional duties and The Edditer kindly offering help to create a site last year, the event still has no online presence that I can find, and the organisers haven’t sent me any info through. I do, however, have this flyer I bagged at Pelsall Canal Festival. Sorry for the quality of the scan, it’s been living in the bottom of my pannier for two weeks. Honestly, people moan that Brownhills doesn’t get any promotion – we’ve got to meet them half way chaps, and start promoting ourselves a bit more.

Always a good day out... It would be even better with some kind of online engagement. Isn't it the eigth, not the ninth? Click for a larger image - please feel free to pint and distribute copies as you see fit.

This is always a great family event with plenty to do for old and young alike, so do pop along. There’s usually plenty of interesting folk to talk to and competitions, cake stalls and canoeing for the adventurous. I’ve attended every one and it gets better every year.

If the organisers have any more ifo, or better quality promotional material, please do drop me a copy. Ta. BrownhillsBob at Googlemail dot com.

Again, Walsall Wood Scouts will be there representing Scouting in Walsall Wood and also the Brownhills Group. We’re looking forward to seeing some new faces as well as some familar ones!

Would like to know why these leaflets are not being posted through doors as there are some people who do not know this is going on

    Hi Bob

Having spent a few hours at Fradley junction this morning the boats, their decorations, artwork, designs, colour, and above the gracious people on board and in the shop and cafe who made a visit by “special” people there a treat and a thrill made my morning memorable , too.
I look forward to being able to enjoy Brownhills Canal festival on Sunday..and it looks as if the sun may shine and make the day complete!
The backstage volunteer workers always welcome extra help, at this and at the other events throughout the year.

(Edited by Bob: I’m not prepared to publish unnamed phone numbers in public. If you’d like to explain whose number this is, and what you actually want volunteers to do, including an organisation name, I’ll be happy to publish it. Thanks)
    best wishes
    David Evans

  4. David, if you’d like to mail me with those details including a contact name and organisation I’ll post them up. I’m sure you understand that I can’t allow third party phone numbers to be published on the web without the owner\s say-so, particularly when there are no other details supplied.
I need details of what you’re asking for, who the organisation is and who to contact. I realise this may seem odd, but imagine if someone had posted your number online without your knowledge. If it’s your number, please make that clear.
If you’re appealing for local volunteers for a local organisation, give me the gen and I’ll do a whole post for you.

In these times, one can never be too careful.

    Thank you

    Bob
